What We Do
Her Turn is a non-profit organization based in Brookings, South Dakota that provides scholarships to young girls so they can attend local collegiate sports camps at South Dakota State University. We also equip participants with athletic gear, toiletries, snacks, nutrition education, and more so they can show up confident and prepared to make the most of their experience.

Our Programs
We offer two unique opportunities for girls to experience different aspects of sports, including our scholarship program and Her Turn Games.
Scholarship Program
The Her Turn scholarship program removes barriers to sports by providing young girls in the Brookings community with access to SDSU athletic camps, equipment, and transportation.
Her Turn Games
Her Turn Games invite athletes from Mickelson Middle School in Brookings to experience collegiate athletics firsthand through free admission and concessions at an SDSU game in their respective sport.
Meet the Founders
We are Tori Nelson and Myah Selland, former SDSU Women’s Basketball players. Inspired by the opportunities sports gave us, we created Her Turn to break barriers for young girls in sports and help them discover what’s possible when given the chance to play.
